The issue
Kocot Kids turned to us with a few, alarming issues regarding their online shop. The most dangerous ones were the security gaps in PrestaShop software. Lack of further software actualizations might cause a real threat to the customers’ data security. Since the shop was created a long time ago, it had an out-of-date, unattractive design. Moreover, it was non-interactive which discouraged users to make a purchase.
Additionally, what worked for the disadvantage of Kocot Kids was the low efficiency of the platform – the loading time was extremely long. Along with the expanding offer and enlarged products choice, problems with content and products management occurred.
All of these factors caused that Kocot Kids needed a new solution which will be efficient, visually attractive and user-friendly.
Our solution
For the sake of the expanding assortment, we decided to create a brand-new online shop for Kocot Kids on the platform that gives giant possibilities for further development – Magento. Besides huge scalability potential, Magento is the perfect choice for shops like Kocot Kids because it:
- guarantees a high level of customers data security,
- shares hundreds of additional, free modules that easily extend the platform’s functionalities,
- is open-source system – Magento is free of charge which means that owners of the online shop will never bear additional costs connected to the licence.
The main aim was to create an online shop which will be fully user-friendly. That is why we decided to implement a new, web design trends-compliant graphical layout. Moreover, the shop was designed following RWD – instead of separated mobile and desktop versions, one, fully-responsive version was developed.
Solution in details
1. Integrations
The assurance of the most convenient purchase process for Customers was our priority. We put the biggest strain on the variety of payment methods, that is why four integrations have been implemented:
- PayU
- PayPal,
- bank transfer,
- cash on delivery.
To make sharing of products’ information much easier, we introduced integrations with social media channels – Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp.
2. Products search and presentation
In the online shop with extended assortment, the advanced search engine with the auto-complete mode is a necessity. That is exactly what we have implemented in Kocot Kids online shop. The store offer includes many products that are available in a few colours. That is why we introduced colour swatches – the possibility to change the product colour without switching to another image. Furthermore, we designed the products comparison and the product storage – with the view to the customers that don’t want to finish the purchase at a particular moment.
3. Functionalities dedicated to the Customers
What the Kocot Kids owners wanted the most was the possibility to inform the Clients about new assortment or special offers. That is why we implemented the newsletter. Another functionality made with the view of the Customer was the introduction of the blog. As it is commonly known, the vital element of every online store is communication with Clients. Therefore, except for the typical contact form, we also introduced chat from Tawk.to. Moreover, we couldn’t forget about special offers implementation – rebate codes for whole categories or just particular products.
