About the Client
LINK4 has been in the motor insurance industry since 2003. It is part of the PZU Group, especially known in Central and Eastern Europe. LINK4’s goal is to simplify the insurance process as much as possible. That is why it constantly searches for new, innovative solutions. We designed the new website with this approach in mind – simplicity, intuitiveness, and focus on the end user.
Bogumił Perzyna
Director of Direct Sales Department
We have cooperated with Smartbees on the project of designing and implementing a new website www.link4.pl Our cooperation has been perfect from the beginning. The team was proactive, took the initiative to suggest solutions, responded quickly to our needs, and completed tasks on time. Simultaneously with implementing the graphic design, Smartbees maintained our current website.
We assess our cooperation and the project’s final effect very positively.
The Challenge
We have been cooperating with LINK4 since 2021. So far, we have been supporting the website’s previous version based on Drupal 7. However, the company wanted a new visual concept; a website with easily modifiable content, extensive editing options, and proper data retention. The entire website’s implementation was entrusted to our specialists.
The Goal
Our goal was to create a new website, taking into account a few aspects: SEO, sales, customer service, and analytics. The company wanted a page that would foster easy website positioning. Therefore, introducing a flexible CMS system was crucial. The platform should be quick and easy to use, allowing for publishing content and optimizing the website. As for sales, LINK4 wanted to improve the process of obtaining inquiries from customers – create simple calculators, easy-to-fill forms, and a chat.
The Solution
The project’s specificity, industry, and the fact that the client knows the CMS (the previous website was based on Drupal 7) decided that we would also create a new website on Drupal but in an upgraded version - 9. Currently, the website is updated to D10. What makes Drupal so unique over other CMS systems?
- Open code that makes the CMS flexible not only in terms of design changes but also functions modification;
- security achieved by regularly released patches;
- high efficiency thanks to the combination of traditional CMS and framework;
- a large number of downloadable plugins that help personalize the website.

Advanced Search Options
Our advanced internal search engine is built on Elasticsearch and Vue.js to make it easier to navigate the website and find information quickly. The search engine is at the top of the page. After entering a word or phrase, the user see the results as a listing along with assigned thematic filters such as travel, car, or apartment.
Content Migration from Drupal 7 to 9
We migrated, for example, news articles but also created new structures for landing pages and blog entries.
Landing page consists of simple and transparent blocks. The editors can add many options:
- minimalistic presentation of insurance prices;
- columns with the characteristics of a given solution;
- CTA in the form of white and gray blocks that stand out from the page background;
- bulleted list with additional content;
- small boxes with icons;
- clickable Q&A section with the ability to mark questions as H3;
- and many, many more.
We equipped the blog with, for example:
- a timer showing the user’s progress in reading the article;
- CTA block in the content;
- aside banner on the right side of the article.
Creating and Modifying the Forms
The client wanted intuitive forms through which users could report incidents. We focused on simplicity, consistent colors, and, most importantly, from a technical point of view, the Webform module. It is a flexible form creator that collects submissions, sends notifications, and allows creating additional documents in the template. Moreover, it enables generating a submitted forms in CSV, which makes the work much easier.
Interactive maps
Creating a place where anyone could check out the workshops availability in Poland was a real challenge. For this purpose, we used the fast and “lightweight” Vue.js framework and Google API.
The map shows the workshop locations divided into voivodeships and numeral markings. After clicking on the selected area, a list with approximate workshop locations appears. The listing includes the exact address of the centers, contact details and allows you to designate a route.
Integrations
LiveChat
Classic integration with LiveChat usually requires only placing appropriate scripts in the website code. Then the LiveChat service icon appears on the website, which enables conversations with the virtual assistant.
However, LiveChat by default had many limitations that did not satisfy the client. For example, it was not possible to indicate an element on the website that will be used to launch the chat. We had to redesign this function. The introduced changes allow starting a chat by clicking on the contact menu items. Additionally, we have created a configuration form that enables indicating the URL addresses for which the chat function will be disabled.
OneTrust
OneTrust is a service that maintains privacy on the website. Integration with the platform involves placing appropriate scripts in the client’s website code provided by OneTrust. The service is used by LINK4 to manage cookies, giving the ability to efficiently control cookie preferences and privacy compliance.
Moreover, we have added fields in Drupal form that allow changing the domain name and key. Thanks to this, the client can independently manage integration with the service from the administration panel.
Google Tag Manager (GTM)
We have added a script on the website that integrates it with the GTM service. As in the OneTrust case, we have also supplemented the basic form setting with the possibility to make changes by the client in the admin panel.
We have added the option to store data from the different contact forms using dataLayer – a tool for transferring data from the website to the GTM container. It enables collecting data about users’ activities on the website and their interactions with forms. As a result, the client can better understand user behavior, personalize their experiences, and efficiently monitor and analyze conversions.
Import and Export Mechanism
The client was looking for a way to easily and quickly add workshops and agents to the map. Thus, we added the option to import CSV files into Drupal. We also created a structure that stores data and allows its export. As a result, we saved a lot of time and streamlined the process. Furthermore, the solution minimized the risk of error when entering a dozen or even several dozen new points.
The Effects
The new website is all about simplicity, transparency and usability
The plans assumed several months of intensive work. That’s how it was! Our dedicated team worked on data migration, paragraphs, and additional functions. What else have we achieved?
